Have you tried making changes, only to find yourself back in the same painful or frustrating place? Do you know what you want in your life, but can’t seem to make it happen?

Many clients come to me feeling stuck, hopeless, or simply don't know where to turn next. Some people come to me unsure as to why they keep repeating the same patterns. Others have great insight and may be highly successful in certain areas of life, but not in others. And having the insight without seeing change can feel even more frustrating. Some people are in a pretty good place, but want more from life...yet seem to hit a ceiling

So why do we remain stuck?

Often, we carry limiting beliefs or unresolved experiences that quietly shape how we see ourselves, others, and the world around us. Even when we tell ourselves, “That doesn’t bother me anymore,” old wounds and thought patterns can continue to influence our choices, relationships, and emotional reactions in ways that no longer serve us.

The hard part is that when you’re inside the pattern, it can be difficult to see clearly — and difficult to ask the questions that lead to real change.

The good news is: you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Together, we can begin to understand the patterns keeping you stuck, reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been overlooked, often the parts that hold the answers we seek, and create lasting change that feels meaningful and sustainable.

"I'm not here to save you. Im here to stand by your side as you save yourself"

The therapeutic relationship is a partnership. You are the expert on your life and your experiences. Even if it doesn’t feel like it right now, you already hold many of the answers you’re searching for. My role is to support, guide, and walk alongside you as you uncover them.

Together, we will create a therapeutic experience tailored to your unique needs and goals. Through this process, you can begin to heal, grow, and develop a deeper trust in yourself and your ability to move forward.

Could you do it on your own? Sure. Maybe. But why would you want to?

My name is Holly, and I am a Registered Art Therapist (ATR), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) and artist. I am passionate about helping individuals and couples create meaningful, lasting change in their lives. I believe therapy should not only help you understand yourself more deeply, but also help you move forward feeling more secure, capable, connected, and fulfilled in your life.

In our initial session, I will ask questions to help me better understand your experiences and challenges, and for you to gain clarity on your goals so we can begin building a clear path forward together. I also aim to provide practical tools and insights you can begin using right away between sessions.

My approach is intuitive, collaborative, and individualized. I utilize expressive Art Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Somatic experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Integration (EMI). With couples I pull from my Gottman Level 1 training and my new love of Relational Life Therapy (RLT). I incorporate creativity, expressive art and somatic practices to help clients reconnect with their bodies, process emotions more deeply, and create meaningful, lasting change.

A common question I get asked is "Do I have to make Art to work with you?". The answer is, No, artmaking is just one intervention I use and there are so many things we can do! If you have heard of any of the modalities I mentioned, great, and if you have no idea what any of those mean, that's also great! We can talk about what it all means and together we can decide what might be the best approach for you. The good thing about having lots of experience to pull from is that I will always have different things to try. If we try something and it's not for you, we shift. This is  a process of finding what works for you.

So, if you’ve tried therapy before and didn't get the results you were hoping for, or learned a lot but wish to go deeper, I may be able to offer a different path to accessing insight and change. Whatever your past therapeutic experiences may be, or maybe it's your first time, I am confident that together we can identify what is holding you back, and develop a thoughtful, personalized plan for moving forward now.

I know reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and the work of therapy is challenings. You may not even know where to begin — and that’s okay. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting.

Just start.

Show up.

Stay open to the process.

Healing and real change are possible.

From personal experience, I know this work is hard. It's not all pretty. Growth is uncomfortable and utterly painful at times. It can be confusing and frustrating. It is also so worth it. There will be hard work, but also new insights, little wins that add up, and the big, life-changing realizations that propel you forward. Sometimes it will feel slow, and other times too fast. There will be laughs (I joke a LOT- we have to laugh!) There will probably be tears. And when we are willing to do the work and allow ourselves to receive support, and not give up in the messy middle, transformation can happen- often in ways we never expected.

What is an Art Therapist?

I am dually licensed in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling, which allows me to integrate the creative process alongside traditional psychotherapy approaches as we work toward your goals. Rather than relying only on words, we can also use visual art as a powerful form of expression, insight, and healing.

Art can help us access emotions, experiences, and patterns that are often difficult to fully articulate through talk therapy alone. In both my personal healing journey and my clinical work with clients, I have seen how creating art can lead to profound insight and emotional breakthroughs — sometimes uncovering in a single session what might otherwise take weeks or months to process verbally.

In addition to fostering insight, art making can also help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Engaging in creative expression can calm the nervous system, lower stress hormones such as cortisol, and support the development of new neural pathways in the brain.

Art Therapy sessions look different for every individual or group. Sessions often include both art making and verbal processing. Some clients create art during sessions, while others prefer to create at home and explore the meaning of the artwork together afterward. At times, I may even encourage simple doodling or scribbling while we are talking. This can support bilateral stimulation — engaging both the right and left hemispheres of the brain — which may help deepen emotional processing and support the integration of difficult experiences.

We’ve all heard the phrase, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Symbolism can be incredibly powerful in therapy. Just as a meaningful insight or phrase from therapy may stay with you between sessions, an image or symbol created through art can continue to guide and support your healing process long afterward.

Think about symbols that resonate with you. What comes to mind when you picture a mountain, a tree, or water? Images often carry emotional meaning that connects us to deeper parts of ourselves in ways words cannot always reach.

Art Therapy can also help shift the focus from what you want to move away from toward what you want to move toward. Many people come to therapy knowing exactly what they don't want:
“I want to leave this relationship.” “I want to stop using food or substances to cope.” “I don't want to feel this way anymore" This is very important information. But so often, it is harder to imagine what comes next. What do we want instead? When we cannot clearly envision the future we want, it becomes difficult to move beyond old patterns and familiar stories. Art can help bring those hopes, goals, and possibilities into clearer focus.

I believe that before we can truly move toward a different life, we first need to begin imagining and connecting to what that life could feel like. Art can be a powerful tool for visualization, self-discovery, and transformation.

You do not need to consider yourself “artistic” or have any art experience to work with me. Art making is always optional. But if this approach resonates with you, or you want to try something out of your comfort zone, Art Therapy may be for you!

I do not work directly with any insurance companies, which provides many benefits. These include greater privacy and confidentiality, freedom of treatment, and no need for a diagnosis. I also believe we invest more in the outcome of the treatment when we see therapy as an investment in ourselves.

I am happy to provide a Super Bill. This option allows you as the client to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement for an out of network provider. You may be reimbursed for the predetermined amount by the insurance provider, and this varies from company to company. Please be aware that if this method is chosen a formal diagnosis will be required by me, your provider.

Please reach out to ask if a sliding scale fee spot is currently available, if cost is a concern. I will do my best to make sure financal concerns will not deter anyone from getting the help they need.
